Book It!

Decided to take last month off since I only managed to finish one book. Even though I'm finding more and more books to read, I'm reading less. Go figure. I am actually ahead on my Glass Key books now, so that's good.

Just Read:

Truth In Advertising- John Kenney
This was like watching modern day Mad Men if it was written by Jonathan Tropper. Which is to say I liked it a lot.

Missing- Karin Alvtegen
Quick, enjoyable read. I liked how much time was given to the main character's back story (which reminded me of She's Come Undone). The crime itself wasn't as interesting as what came before it.

Lime's Photograph- Leif Davidsen
While I enjoyed this book, it seemed very light on the crime/mystery parts of the story. It was really a secondary part of the plot and I wished it had been more developed. It could have been an even stronger story I think.

Smilla's Sense of Snow- Peter Hoeg
Interesting book, I learned a lot about Greenland from this book. The story was definitely more of a character study than just focused on the crime. There are a lot of similarites between Smilla and Lisbeth Salander, so I'd guess that she was a bit of an inspiration for Stieg Larsson.

Currently Reading:

Jar City- Arnaldur Indriðason

Death in a Cold Climate: A Guide to Scandinavian Crime Fiction- Barry Forshaw

Up Next (probably):

Silence of the Grave-  Arnaldur Indriðason
