WIP Wednesday: The Return

It's been too long since I've had any WIP action to share. For the next few weeks, it's going to be the progress of my new craft space. I'm excited to finally have an entire space devoted to all my crafty stuff.

Here's the before from early last week:

The goal is to have a computer area (which will be where the lamp is) and opposite that I'll have a work area. Plus a closet full (well hopefully not full) of supplies. I want it to be super organized and keep it relatively cheap to put together, and of course awesome.

Next week: I put furniture where it possibly may go!

Book It!

My reading has almost completely stopped in the last month between the Olympics and moving to a new place. I did join a book club, so now I'll have one book a month that I'll have to read.

Just Read:

Broken Harbor- Tana French
A book I was definitely looking forward to. It's not my favorite of the series (I have to go with either In the Woods or The Likeness), but I thought it was better than Faithful Place.

Don't Look Back- Karin Fossum
Continuing to read (and enjoy) foreign crime novels. I'm interested to see where the main character goes as the series goes on. Whenever I get around to reading the next books.

Redshirts- John Scalzi (audiobook narrated by Wil Wheaton)
I read this book based on a recommendation. I enjoyed it, although I wasn't a huge fan of the codas at the end. I'm expecting to watch Star Trek in a whole different way after reading this though.

Currently Reading:

Sharp Objects- Gillian Flynn

Up Next (probably):

One Last Thing Before I Go- Jonathan Tropper

  5. the Olympic tennis tournament

Friday Five

5 random things I've enjoyed about the Olympics

  1. Team GB's uniforms: love the monochrome union jack
  2. The Romanian women's gymnasts outfits: they're always some of my favorites
  3. Rooting for random countries just because
  4. Dressage: it's floor exercise for horses!
  5. Table tennis: so intense and awesome

Friday Five

After a long wait, I'm finally moving next week. Here are 5 things I'm excited about in my new place.

  1. No shared walls: no listening to neighbors snoring or doing laundry 24-7
  2. Outdoor space: year round barbeques here I come!
  3. Full size master closet: you know, one big enough for 2 people's clothes
  4. Pantry: nice to have a dedicated space for all the cereal and mac & cheese
  5. My own crafty space: I don't really need to explain this, do I?
